In 1861 Solomon Davis, aged 21, born in Gt. Bedwin, unmarried, and his brother Mark, were working as carters in Kintbury Berkshire.

In 1871 Solomon Davis, aged 31, born in Bedwin Wilts, general labourer, and wife Ann, aged 34, born in Bedwin Wilts were living in Tatterdown Place Hornsey Middlesex. Present were children: Ellen (8) of Bedwin, and born in Hornsey: Louisa (5), Elizabeth (3), Thirza (1), infant not named (3 weeks)
