3 It would appear that, based on the fact that Jane's uncle, Griffith Evan, was of Cwm yr Afon in Llanbedr, Jane was a distant cousin of her husband, inasmuch as her grandfather, John Evans, christened in Llanbedr on 10 Sep 1710, was the son of Evan ap Humphrey (Johannes filius Evani ab Humphrey & uxoris ejus) who was of Cwm yr Afon and a relation of Jonet vch Humphrey, one of her husband's maternal great-greatmothers.
