" THE LATE MR. WILLIAM SNASHALL.
While away on holiday at Port Adelaide last week staying with his brother and sister-in-law (Mr. and Mrs. Vic. Williams) Mr. William Snashall, a well-known Clare identity died suddenly. He had been in ailing health for several years with heart trouble, and being born at Donnybrook, Clare in 1879, was 62 years of age.
He was the eldest son of a family of nine children of the late Thomas and Augusta Snashall, of Donnybrook, and married Miss Florence Williams, of Clare, about 36 years ago, when aged 27. For 41 years he was continuously in the employ, firstly with Mr. William Blight, and later with suceeding firms down to that of the firm of Mr. H. C Jones, at the bakehouse, Clare. Ill health forced his retirement from active baking about 2½ years ago. His wife predeceased him several years ago, and surviving members of the family are one daughter — Mrs. Robert Aitken, of Clare, and two sons — Mr. Thomas Snashall, of Adelaide; and Driver Dudley Snashall, A.I.F., who reached Clare on Tuesday night, invalided home to Australia from active service in Syria and other places in the Near East.
Surviving brothers and sisters of the deceased are Mrs. Tom Harvey, of Naracoorte; Mrs. Henry Paetke, Clare; Mrs. Frank Knappstein, Clare; Mr. Pevral Snashall, Donnybrook, Clare; and Mr. E. A. Snashall, Clare...." 4
