"SOCIAL AND PRESENTATION. '

'Last evening the senior scholars and teachers, with the members of the Christian Endeavour Society of the Wesleyan Church, met in the school-room to tender a social and make a presentation to Mr. T. E. Kitto and Miss Rowe, on the occasion of their approaohing marriage and departure from Castlemaine. After tea had been partaken of. Mr J. W. Harrison, Superintendent of the school (in the unavoidable absence of the Rev J. Mathieson), referred to the many good qualities of Miss Rowe and Mr Kitto. Both havo been connected with the school and the Endeavour Society for some years. Regret was expressed by Mr Neal (for the Eudeavourers) and Mr Carter (for the school) at the departure of the guests. Mr Harrison then presented Miss Rowe and Mr Kitto with a hot water kettle and a pair of serviette rings. Mr Kitto responded on behalf of Miss Rowe and himself. He said he was sorry at leaving the town, having received such kindness from friends here, and said that wherever they went he was sure they would always be glad to meet their old friends from Castlemaine." 9
