John de Saint Philibert, Knt., of Eaton Hastings, Cresswell (in Bray), Hanney, Sulham, etc., Berkshire, and Tormarton and Southrop, Gloucestershire, etc., aged 21 years in 1314. He was on service overseas under the Earl of Norfolk in 1320. He fought in Gascony in 1325 and 1331. 1

Licence for John de Sancto Philberto to grant to John son of John de Sancto Philberto and Joan daughter of Robert de Ufford and the heirs of the body of John son of John the manor of Braye, with 100½ acres of land in Wynkefeld, co. Berks, and a weir in the Thames called 'Brayoke,' said to be held in chief. If the said John son of John die without heir of his body, the premises are to revert to the grantor and his heirs.

Rakheyth. The manor, held of the tenants of the manor of Runham, and of the prioress of Carhowe, by service of 18s. 10d. yearly, as in socage.
John his son, aged 6 years, is his next heir.

Suffolk. Inq. 20 March, 7 Edward III.

Chellesworth. The manor, held, jointly with Ada his wife who still survives, of the abbot of St. Edmund's, as in socage, by service of 103s. yearly, and 110qr. of grain, viz.—corn, 2qr. white peas, 19½qr. barley, and 64qr. oats, a goose and five hens.

Flemton. The manor held of John de Shardelowe by homage and fealty, and by service of 3s. yearly, and doing common suit at the hundred (court) of the abbot of St. Edmund's of Thynghowe.
Both held jointly with Ada his wife, who still survives, of the grant of Robert de Ereswell, clerk, and Ralph, parson of the church of Chikenhale, by fine levied in the king's court in 18 Edward II, to hold to them, and the heirs of the said John for ever.

Chigenhale Trenchefoille. The manor, held, jointly with Ada his wife who still survives, of the king in chief, by service of half a knight's fee, of the grant of John de Botitourte and Maud his wife, by fine levied in the king's court in 16 Edward II, to hold to them and the heirs of the said John, of the king in chief, by service of half a knight's fee and scutage when it runs; a windmill and 10a. land held jointly as above, of the prior of Leigh by service of 4s. yearly, of the grant of the said John and Maud, by the fine aforesaid; and 1½a. land held jointly as above, of the said grant, by virtue of the aforesaid fine, of John de Cornewaylle by service of 6d. yearly.

The manor (extent given), held of Joan de Vyvon in chief, by homage and fealty, and service of a quarter of a knight's fee: and the rector of the free chapel of Esthanney receives yearly 10s. from the said manor, and 3 quarters and 3 bushels of corn, and Giles de Farlynton receives from the same manor 6l. 13s. 4d. yearly rent, of the grant of the said John de Sancto Philberto, to him and his heirs for ever.

Confirmation of a grant by John de Sancto Philberto, knight, now deceased, to Richard Thursteyn, for life, of a virgate of land in Eton Hastynges, by the rent of 5s. payable to the grantor and his heirs, and of the reversion of a messuage and a virgate of land in the same town, expectant on the demise of Isabella de Hastynges, which has now happened, by the rent of 11s.
Memorandum, that the said 16s. are to be paid to the king during the minority of the heir of the said John, who was of the age of six years at the Epiphany, as has been found by inquisition.
