Warin Trussell, Knt., of Billesley, Warwickshire, Ravenstone, Buckinghamshire, Willaston, Cheshire, and Little Canfield and Paglesham, Essex, younger son of William Trussell, Knt., of Kibblestone (in Stone), Staffordshire, Marston Trussell, Northamptonshire, and, in right of his wife, of Warmingham, Cheshire, by Maud, daughter and co-heiress of Warin de Mainwairing, Knt. He was an adult in 1337 1.

In 1341 they received a licence to have mass celebrated in an oratory within their manor of Billesley for two years.

In 1342 William de Clinton, Earl of Huntingdon complained that Warin Trussell, Knt., Henry son of John Trap, of of Shelfhull, and others broke his park at Shelfhull and entered his free warren at Aston Cantlow, Warwickshire, hunted in these, carried away his goods there with deer from the park and hares, rabbits, and partridges from the warren, and beat his men and servants so that he lost their service for a long time. He served in the retinue of King Edward III at the Battle of Crécy in 1346 and during the subsequent siege of Calais.

In 1347 he and his brother William Trussell, Knt., of Kibblestone, and John Brocas, Knt., acknowledged they owed a debt of £1000 to John de Wygan, Citizen of London, to be levied, in default of payment, out of their lands and chattels in Staffordshire. [CCR, 21 Edw. III, pp. 371, 418-419]

William Trussel of Cubblesdon and Warin Trussel his brother, John Brocas, knight, John de Bedeforde, skinner, Thomas de Walden, spicer, and Richard de Mallynge, vintner, citizens of London, acknowledge that they owe to John de Wygan, citizen of London, 3,000l.; to be levied, in default of payment, of their lands and chattels in co. Berks.
Cancelled on payment.

Enrolment of indenture testifying that whereas William Trussel of Cubbesdon, Warin Trussel his brother, John Brokas, knights, John de Bedeford, skinner, Thomas de Walden, spicer, and Richard de Mallyngge, vintner, citizens of London, are bound to John de Wygan, citizen of London, in 3,000l. by the preceding recognisance, to be paid at the octaves of Hilary next, John de Wygan grants that if they deliver the body of William Trussel son of John Trussel who is committed to the custody of the said John de Wygan, warden of the prison of the Marshalsea of the king's Bench, at the octaves of Hilary next, to the warden of that prison, then the recognisance shall be null and void, and if they do not, it shall remain in force. Witnesses: Reginald de Thorp, Thomas Gyles, Robert de Assh, Thomas de Banham, Richard le Clerk, John Adam, 'barber,' Richard Dymenel, Ralph Fraunceys, clerk. Dated at Fletstret in the suburb of London on Sunday after the Conception of the Virgin, 21 Edward III.
Memorandum that William, Warin, John, John, Thomas and Richard and the said John de Wygan came into chancery at Westminster on 9 December and acknowledged the preceding indenture.

Enrolment of power of attorney by Jordan Barentyn to Sir Warin Trussell, William Trussell the younger, knights, and John Lowell to receive seisin in his name of all the tenements which come to him by hereditary right in the towns of Kanefeld, Little Eston, Herstede, Halstede, Borham and Tillebiry with all their appurtenances in co. Essex, and in the town of Ravenston, co. Buckingham. Dated at London on Wednesday after St. Barnabas, 23 Edward III.
Memorandum that Jordan came into chancery at London on 28 June, and acknowledged the preceding deed.

In 1359 he complained that he had been fined £60 for enclosing Willaston manor in Wirral forest. The same year Hugh, Prior of Lewes, granted him the right to present of one turn only of a suitable rector to the church of Little Canfield, Essex at the next voidance, which grant was made at the instance of Philippe, Queen of England, and the Earl of Arundel 1.

In 1361, John de Coggeshale was shown to have been holding the manor of Pagesham in Essex of Warin Trussel by service of 2 marks yearly 2.

  Marriage Information:

Warin married Maud DE SAINT PHILIBERT, daughter of Sir John DE SAINT PHILIBERT of Eaton Hastings and Ada BOTETOURT, before 1341. (Maud DE SAINT PHILIBERT died before 1419.)
