Obituary

"Elma I. Martin, 90, Belmont, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1993, at Parkview Terrace Nursing Home, Platteville.

Elma was born Dec. 2, 1902, in Belmont, the daughter of William and Cara Bryan Jones. She attended the Belmont Schools and the Platteville Normal School. On Sept. 20, 1922, she was united in marriage to Leo V. Martin at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Platteville. They farmed in the Belmont area until 1948, when they retired and moved to Belmont. He died in 1984.

She was a member of St. Philomena's Catholic Church, Belmont. She enjoyed playing cards, the piano and taking care of her grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Vincent (Bette) Martin, Janesville; Lyle (Mary) Martin, Belmont; 17 grandchildren; a sister, Jacquetta Staver, Belmont; and a lifelong special friend, Dode Miller, Belmont...." ³
