With him were brother Arthur Motley (26) of Ashby Cum Fenby, single, joint farmer, sisters Alice Motley (32) of Ashby Cum Fenby, house keeper, and Mary Motley (17) of Ashby Cum Fenby, assistant house keeper, father Henry Motley (58) of Gt. Grimsby, widower, retired farmer.

In 1901 Alfred Motley (38) of Ashby cum Fenby, living on own means, and wife Ann Elizabeth (37) of Hull Yorkshire, were living in No. 1 Rincon Villa, Keddington, Lincs. With them was Alfred's sister Frances Mary Motley (27) of Ashby cum Fenby.
