In 1905 D. Motley was a witness at the marriage of his sister Annie to Thomas Overton.

In 1911 David Motley (34) of Leake Lincs., farmer (own account), and wife of 3 years Sallie Frances (36) of Hoffleet Stow Lincs. were living in Kirton Holme Lincolnshire.

In the 1939 Register David Motley (b. 17 Jun 1876), small holder, and wife Sally F Motley (b. 6 Oct 1869), unpaid domestic duties, were living in Firdale Skegness Road, Spilsby R.D., Lincolnshire.
