   Research Notes:

In 1851 Frederick Motley (32) of Billinghay, agricultural labourer, and wife Matilda (25) of Haltham, were living in Wildmore Fens Allotment, Haltham. Present was son Charles (5) of Haltham.

In 1861 Frederick Motley (41) of Walcot*, agricultural labourer, and wife Matilda (35) of Haltham, were living at 2 The Village, Haltham. Present were children: Charles (15) of Kirkby, agricultural labourer, George (7) of Haltham, scholar, Moses (5), scholar.

* Walcot is close to Billinghay (the latter lies on the Walcot road).

In 1871 Frederick Motley (52) of Walcot, cottager [of] 20 [acres], and wife Matilda (45) of Haltham, were living in Village Haltham. Present were sons (born in Haltham): George (17), farm labourer, Moses (15), farm labourer.

In 1881 Frederick Motley (62) of Walcot, cottager of 16 acres, and wife Matilda (55) of Haltham, were living in Village, Haltham Upon Bain. Present was son Moses (25) of Haltham, labourer.

In 1891 Frederick Motley (72) of Walcot, farmer, and wife Matilda (65) of Haltham, were living on Coningsby Road, Haltham, Haltham Upon Bain. Present was son Moses (35) of Haltham, farmer's son.

In 1901 Frederick Motley (82) of Walcot, widower, farmer, was living on Coningsby Road, Haltham Upon Bain. Present were son Moses (45) of Haltham, married, helper on farm, Moses's wife Eliza (40) of Coningsby, housekeeper.
