In 1861 Edna was staying with her uncle Thomas Burnet and his family.

In 1871 Edna Grundy (24) of Brinkhill was working as a domestic servant (nurse) in St. Botolph Cambridgeshire.

In 1881 Edna Grundy (34) of Lincolnshire was working as a servant to Marianne Leighton, stationer, in St. Ann, Nottingham St. Mary.

In 1891 Edna Ward (44) of Brinkhill and husband William J. Ward (40) of Scremby, labourer on the railway, were living at 11 Burton Road, Lincoln. Present were daughters (born in Scunthorpe): Florrie (5), scholar, and Ethel (2)

In 1901 Edna Ward (53) of Brinkhill and husband Wm. J. Ward (50) of Scremby, iron foundry labourer, were living at 23 Victoria Terrace, Lincoln St Martin. Present were daughters (born in Scunthorpe): Florrie (15), dressmaker, Ethel (12)
