On 12 Jun 1833 David Griffith was a witness at the marriage of his brother Edward to Gwen Jones of Maentwrog.

Co-executor and a residuary legatee of his father's Will (1835)

In 1841, David Griffith (30), ind., was living in Tyddyny Coesiwr Llanfair. Present was [his mother] Eleanor Griffith (65), ind.

Know all men...that Ellinor Griffith of Tyddyny Coesiwr, Widow, John Griffith of Tyddyny Coesiwr, Farmer, both in the Parish of Llanfair in the County of Merioneth, and Lewis Edward of Pontg--- in the Parish of Llanfair in the County of Merioneth aforesaid, Farmer, are held and firmly bound ... in the sum of of Three Hundred and Ninety six Pounds...

The Condition of this Obligation is such that if the above bounden Ellinor Griffith Administratrix of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of David Griffith late of Tyddyny Coesiwr deceased do make or cause to be made a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased &c...

On the twentieth day of February in the year of our Lord 1844 personally appeared Ellinor Griffith and alleged that David Griffith late of Tyddyny Coesiwr in the Parish of Llanfair in the County of Merioneth, Druggist, died in the year of our Lord 1843 intestate without making any Will, that she...is the lawful Sister [sic] and next of kin of the deceased aforesaid. Wherefore she prays that Administration of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased be granted to her on giving the usual security.

Let Administration pass as prayed to the said Ellinor Griffith she being first sworn...on the Holy Evangelists as the law directs, and that the whole of the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased do not amount in value to £200-0-0.

Before me, H. W. White, Surrogate.

The intestate died on the 1st day of December 1843. 1
