"Late Mr. A. S. Walters Was Keen Poultry Man

Mr. Albert Senior Walters, who died in hospital last night, was well known as sales manager of the Brisbane Gas Company's showroom and as one of that company's oldest employees, as well as president of the National Util ity Poultry Breeders' Association, and a director or the Poultry Farmers Co-operative Society Ltd., He was one of the three founders of the N.U.P.B.A. also of the recently formed Super Chick Association.

The late Mr. Walters was born in Maryborough 57 years ago. The family came to Brisbane when Mr. Walters was a small boy, and he attended the old Normal School and the Central Technical College. Upon leaving school he was employed first by John Jackson and Co., produce merchants, and afterwards by the A.U.S.N. Co., before joining the Gas Company's service 35 years ago.

The late Mr. Walters was a keen cricketer. As a young man he captained the Albert Street Methodist Club, which was an outstanding team in the Church Union competition, and he regularly attended big cricket matches.

Mrs. Walters, who was Miss May Stewart, a daughter of the late Mr. D. T. Stewart, a well known boot and shoe maker, survives her husband, as also do two daughters — Coral and Edris, two sisters, Misses F. and B. Walters, and a brother, Mr. A. E. Walters (Melbourne)." 4

A pretty but quiet wedding was celebrated at May Villa, May-street, West End, on May 12, when Mr Albert Senior Walters (eldest son of Mr. and , Mrs Walters, Astrea, Bank-street, West End) was married to Miss Ethel May Stewart (second youngest daughter of Mrs M. R. Stewart, and the late Mr D. S. Stewart). The Rev. T. R. Thurlow officiated. Only relatives of both bride and bridegroom were present. Many valuable presents and several cheques were received." 7
