In 1940, William Bambrough (18) of Wisconsin, pin setter in a bowling alley, was with his mother Mildred Gilbert and her husband Lester in Ward 8, Madison, Madison City, Dane, Wisconsin.
"MADISON - William R. Bambrough, age 80, died unexpectedly on Monday July 1, 2002, at his home in Madison.
He was born on Aug. 7, 1921, in Madison, Wis., to Morris and Mildred (Paine) Bambrough. He was a veteran of World War II as an Army infantryman serving in the European Theater. He worked at Oscar Mayer and Badger Cab Company. He enjoyed fishing and traveling, although the arriving was all too often too short (relatives and friends will relate to this) and at times interesting. Seemingly the destination was not always his idea or held the importance it did for others, but that was Bill.
He is survived by a daughter, Sharen Bambrough of Sandy, Ore.; a son, Dale (Sue) Bambrough; a brother, James (Dorothy) Bambrough; a half-brother, Harry (Arvella) Bambrough; and half-sister-in-law, Margaret Bambrough all of Madison; a half-sister, Dolores (Roman) Laufenberg of Port Richey, Fla.; a half-sister, Genevieve Kiely of Reedsburg, Wis.; a sister-in-law, Irene (Anderson) Falci of Viborg, S.D.; and many nieces and nephews.
`He was preceded in death by his parents, Morrie and Mildred (Paine); his wife, Alma (Anderson); half-sister, Darlene Prickett; half-brother, Robert Bambrough; and recently, his best friend of 57 years, Norbert Schmidt...." 3
William married Alma Jeanette ANDERSON. (Alma Jeanette ANDERSON was born on 22 Jan 1921 in Lake Mills, Winnebago, IA, USA 1, died on 28 May 1984 in Madison, Dane, WI, USA 1 4 and was buried in Forest Hill Cemetery, Madison, Dane, WI, USA 5.)
