"The marriage was celebrated at St. Mary's Cathedral on April l8, 1923, by the Rev. Father Griffin, of Brewarrina, of Italia McKay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. McKay, The Overflow, Warren, to Jack Ryrie, of Bibbijiberry, Warren, youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Ryrie, of Weemabah, Trangie. The bridal gown was of white satin with Court train, ornamented with hand-made flowers. The tulle veil held by a chaplet of orange blossoms and silver leaves. The bride carried a sheaf of tuberoses and carnations, and was (in the unavoidable absence of her father) given away by her mother. The bride was attended by Miss Grace McKay and Miss Chris. Allen, who were both attired in primrose lace frocks over georgette, and black velvet hats. They carried sheafs of delphiniums and hydrangea. Mr. J. Beverley McKay and Mr. Ted Burkitt attended the bridegroom. The reception was held at Petty's Hotel. The bride travelled in a costume of grey gabardine and kingfisher blue hat, Mr. and Mrs. Ryrie left by the Moldavia for a honeymoon trip to Colombo." 6
