  Marriage Notes:

"The Wedding was solemnised in St. John's Church of England, Wagga, yesterday, of William John Rake, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Rake, and Miss Alma Elizabeth Hely, youngest daughter of Sergeant and Mrs. Hely, of Wagga, Canon Pike officiating. The bride was given away by her father and wore a white silk dress, veiled with shadow lace, court train of shadow lace, and wreath and veil, and carried a bouquet of white roses, which, with a set of squirrel furs, were the gifts of the bridegroom. Miss Robina Hely, sister of the bride, attended as bridesmaid and wore white silk trimmed with shadow lace, with black tricorne hat. She also wore a gold necklet set with aquamarines and carried a bouquet of carnations and rosebuds, gifts of the bridegroom. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a set of military brushes. Mr Norman Hely, brother of the bride, acted as best man. Subsequent to the ceremony a reception was held at the Masonic Hall. The bride travelled in a grey tweed military costume, with black velvet military hat to match. The honeymoon is being spent in Sydney." 8
