At the time of the 1901 England Census William Newick, age 13, born in Mayfield Sussex, Carter's boy on Farm, was with his parents at 1 Darbys Cottage, Shovers Green Rd., Wadhurst, Sussex.

At the time of the 1911 England Census William Newick, age 23, born in Mayfield, single, waggoner on farm, was boarding with William and Alice Walter at Great Trodgers, Mayfield Sussex.

In Aug 1918 William James Newick was a witness at the marriage of his brother Albert Henry Newick to Ellen Jemima Wallis in Frant Sussex.

In the 1939 Register William J Newick (b. 22 Jun 1887), married, farm labourer, and [record officially closed] were living at 516 Pleasant Copse Gate Pheasant Copse Gate, Petworth Park, Upperton, Sussex. At the same address was [daughter] Mary Newick (b. 17 May 1920), single, unpaid domestic duties.
