In Dec 1900 Edith Maria Newick and her future husband Walter Keel were present at the marriage of Edith's sister Elizabeth Fanny Newick to Edward William Wenman in Etchingham Sussex.

At the time of the 1901 England Census Edith Newick, age 21, born in Saleshurst Sussex, single, parlour maid to the house of Catherine Butler, was in Hawkhurst, South Kent.

At the time of the 1911 Census Edith Maria Keel, age 31, born in Salehurst Sussex (mother of 2 children), and husband of 8 years Walter Keel, age 33, born in Elmstead Kent, journeyman baker, were living in Ivy Cottage, Mark Cross, Tunbridge Wells. With them were children: Eric John (7) and Dorothy Gladys (6).

In the 1939 Register Edith M Keel (b. 30 Sep 1879), married, unpaid domestic duties, and husband Walter Keel (b. 15 Feb 1877), master baker, were living in Ulcombeden Mark Cross, Town Row, Sussex. At the same address was [son] William P Keel (b. 10 Oct 1912), single, baker's assistant.
