At the time of the 1881 England Census Emily Woolgar, age 25, born in Ticehurst, and husband Charles Woolgar, age 29, born in Cranbrook, sexton & gardener, were living in The Rectory Coach House, Etchingham, Sussex. Present were children: Alice F. (5) of Etchingham, scholar, Mary J. (4) of Mountfield, scholar, Naomi (1) of Etchingham.

At the time of the 1891 England Census Emily Woolgar, age 35, born in Ticehurst, and husband Charles Woolgar, age 38, born in Cranbrook, railway signalman, were living in Porters Lodge, Etchingham, Sussex. Present were children (born in Etchingham): Naomi (11), scholar, Charles (10), scholar, Walter (7), scholar, Arthur (4), scholar.

At the time of the 1901 England Census, Emily Woolgar, age 44, born in Ticehurst, and husband Charles Woolgar, age 48, born in Cranbrook, railway signalman, were living at 12 Churchill Rd., Gravesend, Kent. Present were children: Mary J. Woolgar (24), Curtis C. Woolgar (18) of Etchingham, stable hand groom, Beryl (5?) of Etchingham, Walter H. (16) of Ticehurst, grocer's assistant, grandson William H. B. Woolgar (1) of Etchingham.

At the time of the 1911 England Census Emily Woolgar, age 54 born in Ticehurst, was living 14 Churchill Rd., Gravesend. With her were husband of 36 years Charles Woolgar, age 58, born in Cranbrook, railway signalman, grandson William Woolgar (11) of Ticehurst, at school.

In the 1939 Register Emily Woolgar (b. 2 Jan 1856), widowed, patient, unpaid domestic duties, was in Darenth, Dartford, Kent.
