He stayed with the Henry Newick family on Bartlett Street in Portsmouth NH for 2 years before returning to the UK in 1894 to marry, but his fiancée died before they were wed. He returned to the USA with his parents, Samuel Weston and Jane (Pilbeam) Weston in 1895. He was a game warden, traveling all over NH. An avid hunter and marksman. Worked as an engineer at the Frank Jones Brewery until prohibition, then as a pipefitter at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. From 1916 to his death in 1936, he was a patrolman for the Portsmouth Police Department, walking the beat in the more dangerous areas of Portsmouth near the shipyard where several bars were located and frequented by sailors.

He married twice, first to Harriet Ellen Newick, born in Syracuse NY (1/13/1882 - 12/16/1912) and had two children, John Weston and Elizabeth Harriet Caroline Weston. Harriet died and he then married Josie Dupray.
