Solomon's wife Mary Owens (36) of Liverpool Lancashire and their two sons Richard Owens (8) and William Owens (2) were with Mary's mother Mary Williams in Toxteth Park Extra Parochial, Lancashire.

In 1861 Solomon Owen (47) of Amlch Anglesea, smith (black) and wife Ellen (37) of Liverpool Lancashire were living at 17 China St., Everton, West Derby, Lancashire. Present were sons (born in Liverpool): Richard (18), blacksmith, William (11)
