On 23 Apr 1881 Catherine Griffiths was granted Administration of the personal estate of her late sister Anne Anwyl of Fronfelen Terrace, Barmouth.

In 1881 Catherine Griffith (45) of Barmouth Merioneth, lodging house keeper, and husband William Griffith (51) of Carnarvon, master mariner, were living at 1 Fronfelan Castle, Llanaber, Merioneth. Present were children: Hugh (14) of Barmouth, scholar, Annie Susan (20) of Liverpool Lancashire, school governess, Mary Jane (12) of Liverpool, scholar

In 1891 Catherine Griffiths (58) of Barmouth Merioneth, widow, living on her own means, was at 36 Overbury St. West Derby, Lancashire. Present was daughter Mary J. Griffiths (21) of Liverpool.
