--------------------------------

Contrary to "Collections Historical & Archæological relating to Montgomeryshire and its borders", Catherine was a grandaughter rather than a daughter of Griffith VAUGHAN of Dolmelynllyn and Catherine his wife. 3 Griffith VAUGHAN of Dolmelynllyn, born in 1628, died in 1700, about 2 years before Catherine was born. In his 1700 Will Griffith VAUGHAN of Dolmelynllyn names his son-in-law Lewis ANWILL. According to the Will of his widow Catherine VAUGHAN of Dolmelynllyn, written in 1718, William ANWYL was her grandson, son of Lewis ANWYL of Hengae. Both Lewis ANWYL and his son William married Catherines of the VAUGHAN family of Dolmelynllyn.
