At the time of the 1881 England Census Charles A Collier, age 15, born in York Town Surrey, was with his parents at 26 Tonsley Hill, Wandsworth London.

At the time of the 1891 England Census Charles Alfred Collier, age 25, born in York Yorks. [sic], bricklayer, and wife Fanny Frances, age 29, of Battersea Surrey, were living at 48 Gwynne Rd., Battersea. With them were children (born in Battersea): Charles (5), scholar, Alice Eleanor (1).

At the time of the 1901 England Census Charles A Collier, age 35, born in York Town Surrey, foreman bricklayer, and wife Fanny F, age 39, born in Battersea Surrey, were living at 165 Atheldene Rd., Wandsworth London. With them were children: Charles (15) of Battersea, bricklayer's apprentice, Frederick (13) of Battersea, grocer's shop boy, Alice (11) of Battersea, Emily (9) of Battersea, Christopher (7) of Chelsea, Ellen (5) of Chelsea, and Carleton (2) of Battersea.

In Apr 1906 Charles Alfred Collier was present at the marriage of his sister Emily Mary Collier to John Carr in Yorktown Surrey.

Charles Alfred Collier and his family emigrated to the U.S.A., departing Liverpool England on 11 May 1910 per the vessel S.S. Merion. At the time Charles Alfred Collier was 44, a bricklayer, and stated that his nearest relative in England was [his sister] Miss Alice Frances Collier of "Elmhurst," 110 Beckenham Rd., Beckenham [Kent]. 5
