With them was son Charles Richard Holter (1) of Hailsham.

In the 1939 Register John Holter (b. 13 May 1883), shop keeper - confectionary, tobacco, and wife Emily M J Holter (b. 15 Jan 1881*), unpaid domestic duties, were at the same address as [their daughter] Dorothy E H Stringer (b. 29 May 1911) and her husband Albert E Stringer (b. 3 Nov 1905), cake maker, 39 Saint Annes Road, Lt Willingdon Sussex.
