Will of John Newick, late of Peak Hill, Station Hand, written 15 May 1930, probate 18 Aug 1932.

I John Newick at present residing at near Peak Hill in the State of New South Wales, Station Hand, hereby revoke all wills codicils and testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me and declare this to be my last will. 1. I leave devise and bequeath all my property of whatsoever nature kind or description and wheresoever situate of or to which I shall die seised possessed of or entitled to unto my nephew John Ross son of my brother in law Thomas [sic] Ross and I appoint the said John Ross sole executor of this my will. In Witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this fifteenth day of May one thousand nine hundred and thirty. John Newick.

Sigend by the said John Newick the Testator as and for his last will in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesss:— John Boyd, solicitor, Peak Hill — Marie McKeown, his Clerk.

18th August, 1932. On this date Probate of the last Will and Testament of the said deceased was granted to John Ross of Trewilga, labourer, the Executor named in the said will. Testator died 5th July, 1932. Estate sworn at £340.8.1 nett. 3

Obituary

There passed away at Peak Hill, New South Wales, on the 5th July, 1932, in the person of John Newick at the age of 78 years. He was head stockman at Bowen on the Charleville-Yarronvale Road, which was at one time the cattle portion of Dillalah Stations as he was working for the Dillalah Company for over 20 years. He made a wide circle of friends and was well known and respected by all who knew him.

He was uncle of the late Tom O'Brien's family of Charleville and Cunnamulla, the late Mrs. Gilligan, Mrs. Fred Lambert, Gregg and Mrs. George Gardiner of Parkes, New South Wales; William and James (in Queensland somewhere) and Ted, Parkes, New South Wales.... 4
