HELY—SCHUBERT

The wedding of Vera, second eldest daughter ot Mr. and Mrs. W. Schubert, of Leeton, to Carlyle, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Prosper Hely, of Rockdale, Sydney, was celebrated on Wednesday, May 13, in the Methodist Church, Leeton. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. M.E. Southwell. The church was prettily decorated by girl friends of the bride, ornamented by lovely seasonable flowers, which with the floral wedding bell, added to the beauty of the occasion. The bride was given away by her father, and looked sweet in a gown of ivory ring velvet, cut on long simple lines, falling in graceful folds to the instep. Her veil, which was lent by her sister, Mrs. I. C. Taylor, fell in misty folds about her slender figure. She carried a beautiful sheaf of gladioli, with a trail of white carnations falling to the hem line. Entering the church on the arm of her father, the hymn "The Voice that Breathed O'er Eden" was sung. Miss Francis Schubert, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid and also favored velvet, choosing a pretty shade of green for her bridesmaid frock, with which she wore a tiny turban of white velvet, and carried a sheaf of pink gladioli and carnations. The best man was Mr. William Hely, brother of the bridegroom. During the signing of the register, Mr. George Hanson, finely rendered the popular solo, "Because".

After the ceremony, Mrs. Schubert, gowned in a becoming frock of black morocain, held a reception in St. Peter's Hall. The Rev. M. E. Southwell acted proficiently as chairman at the breakfast. The reverend gentleman proposed the loyal toast and the toast of the occasion which were drunk enthusiastically with musical honors. The other toasts were similarly honored. After the breakfast, the floor was cleared and dancing indulged in till after the young couple had started on their honeymoon trip, which will be made by motor to the South Coast and to Lawson; where the remainder of the honeymoon will be spent.

The bride's going away dress was a smart costume of. brown wool crepe with tiny hat to tone. Their future home will be Gosford, where Mr. Hely has been appointed to an important position in the Agricultural Department.

The presents were displayed in the hall and were admired for their value and appropriateness. 6 7
