In June 1862 Eliza Bendell was present at the marriage of her sister Maria Ann Bendell to Thomas Watson in Portsea Hants.

At the time of the 1871 England Census Eliza Bayley, aged 24, born in Portsmouth, husband George Bayley, aged 26, born in Cowes Isle of Wight, shipwright H.M.Dockyard, and son George Bayley (2) of Portsmouth, were with Eliza's widowed mother at 4 Seymour St., Portsea Hants.

At the time of the 1881 England Census Eliza Bayley, aged 35, born in Portsmouth Hants, and husband George Bayley, aged 36, born in Cowes Isle of Wight, were living at 7 Seymour St., Portsea Hants. With them were children (born in Portsmouth): George (12), scholar, William (9), scholar, Edward (7), scholar, Charles (3), scholar, and Flora (1). Eliza's sister Maria Watson and her family were living nextdoor.

At the time of the 1891 England Census Eliza Bayly, aged 45, born in Portsmouth Hants, and husband George A Bayly, aged 46, born in Isle of Wight, shipwright, were living at 7 Seymour St., Portsea Hants. With them were children (born in Portsmouth): William (19), carpenter, Edward (17), painter, Charles (13), Birtrum (9), scholar, and Henry (4), scholar.
