At the time of the 1871 England Census John A. Curling, aged 22, born in Bishopgate Middx, undergraduate Oxford, was with his parents at 39 Grosvenor St., St. George Hanover Square, Middlesex.

At the time of the 1881 England Census John Algernon Curling, aged 31, born in London Middlesex, unmarried, Curate in charge of Coleshill, was living in Coleshill, Buckinghamshire.

The Will of the Reverend John Algernon Curling late of Coleshill near Amersham in the county of Buckingham, clerk, who died 2 January 1884 at 16 Fitzroy-square in the county of Middlesex, was proved 16 February at the Principal Registry by George Swayne Curling of 35A South-street Park-lane in the county of Middlesex, esquire, the brother, one of the executors. Personal estate £1,049 14s. 2
