In 1849 Edwin Martin was bequeathed £6,000 in his father's Will.

At the time of the 1851 England Census Edwin Martin, aged 15, and brother Horace Martin, aged 17, both born in East Peckham Kent, pupils, were in Sholden Kent.

At the time of the 1861 England Census Edwin Martin, aged 25, born in East Peckham Kent, land proprietor, and wife Martha, aged 20, born in London Middlesex, were living in Barden House, Tonbridge Kent. With them was son Edwin P (5 mo) of Tonbridge.

At the time of the 1871 England Census Edwin Martin, aged 35, born in East Peckham Kent, landowner, and wife Matilda [sic], aged 30, born in London, were living in Grove House, Worth Sussex. With them were sons (born in Worth) Ernest C (5) and Arthur L (3), mother Maria Martin (62) of Hooe Sussex, widow, and brother Leslie Martin (23) of East Peckham Kent, Lt. 12th Lancers.

In March 1878 Edwin Martin of the Grove in the parish of Worth in the county of Sussex, and his brother Horace Martin of West Bank in the parish of Ightham in county Kent, esquires, were co-executors of their mother's Will.

At the time of the 1881 England Census Edwin Martin, aged 45, born in East Peckham Kent, landed proprietor, and wife Martha, aged 40, born in London Middlesex, were living in Grove, Worth Sussex. Present was daughter Alice E. A. Martin (19) of Tonbridge Kent, scholar.

In March 1888 Edwin Martin of the Grove Worth in the county of Sussex, esquire, and his brother Horace Martin of West Bank Wrotham in the county of Kent, esquire, were co-executors of the Will of their late brother Cpt. Leslie Martin of the 12th Royal Lancers.

In 1890 Edwin Martin of the Grove, Worth, in the county of Sussex, was co-executor of the Will of his brother Horace Martin of Wrotham in co. Kent., Esq.

At the time of the 1891 England Census Edwin Martin, aged 55, born in East Peckham Kent, living on own means, and wife Martha, aged 50, born in London Middlesex, living on own means, were in The Grove, Worth Sussex. Present was daughter Alice E. A. Martin (28) of Tonbridge Kent, living on own means.

At the time of the 1901 England Census Edwin Martin, aged 65, born in East Peckham Kent, living on own means, and wife Martha, aged 60, born in London, were in The Grove, Worth Sussex.
