John TRETHOWAN

   Research Notes:

Note: The Censuses show that there were two John Trethowans, both born c. 1792, one in Manaccan (a fisherman), the other in Constantine (a farmer), both having wives named Mary. The marriage register shows that the John Trethowan who married Mary Mayn in Constantine in 1821 was from Manaccan. In 1841, John Trethowan of Constantine was with his father; John Trethowan of Manaccan was with his wife Mary in Manaccan. In 1851, John Trethowan (b. 1792 in Constantine), stonemason, was with his wife Mary in Diggory's, Constantine; John Trethowan (b.1792 in Manaccan) was with his wife Mary (born in Constantine) and family in Helford, Manaccan. As such, John Trethowan son of John and Grace did not marry Mary Mayn. John Trethowan of Manaccan was still living in 1861.
