Mary JONES 1

  • Married: Abt 1722
  • Buried: 11 Nov 1745, Llanbedr, Merioneth, Wales 2

  Research Notes:

It is possible that Mary Jones was the daughter of John Phillip of Ddolwreiddiog in Llanfair-juxta-Harlech, Gent. who wrote his Will on 17 Apr 1731 and made bequests to his children (surname 'Jones'), including a daughter Mary, although he does not make any mention of her being married or having children. However, it is evident that the said John Phillip spent time in Llanbedr, as a daughter Mary was christened there on 6 Oct 1699 (Maria filia Johannis Philip de Dôl wreiddiog et uxoris ejus) 3.

-------------------------------

Mary most likely died as a result of complications arising from childbirth, as her youngest daughter Lowry (chr. 4 Nov 1745, bur. 5 Nov 1745) died about a week before her mother.

  Marriage Information:

Mary married Evan ELLIS of Bleiddbwll, Gent., son of Ellis EVANS of Pwllheli & Bleiddbwll, Gent. and Jonet HUMPHREY, about 1722. (Evan ELLIS was born about 1690 in Llanbedr, Merioneth, Wales and was buried on 23 Mar 1771/2 in Llanbedr, Merioneth, Wales.)
