THE LATE MRS. BRITCHER.

An old Tonbridge resident passed away in the person of Mrs. Frances Hester Britcher, of Priory Bank, at the age of 79 years. The deceased lady, who had been ill for about six weeks, was the widow of the late Mr. George Britcher. She was one of the oldest pew holders at St. Stephen's Church, where she had attended for about 50 years. Mrs. Britcher leaves four sons and two daughters, to whom much sympathy will be extended.

The funeral took place on Wednesday amid many tokens of respect, the first portion of the service being held at St. Stephen's Church. The cortege was met at the lych gate entrance by the Revs. D. M. B. Chapman (vicar) and W. H. Selwyn Griffiths. During the service Psalm xc. was read, and the Lesson from Corinthians xv., was read by the Rev. W. H. S. Griffiths.

In a short address the VICAR spoke of the great loss which was experienced on the death of a mother, and said that to him it seemed worse than the loss of a father, because the mother seemed to be the centre of the home. Mrs. Britcher was one of the oldest members of that congregation, and had stood fast for many years, in fact, she had often been there under great physical effort....

The chief mourners were:—Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Britcher and Miss Britcher (son and daughter-in-law and grand-daughter), Mr. and Mrs. Percival (son-in-law and daughter). Mr. Stephen Britcher (son), Miss Frances Britcher (daughter), Mr. Frank Britcher (son), Mr. and Mrs. Harold Britcher (son and daughter-in-law). Mrs. Wilks (sister), Mr. S. A. Cornell (friend)....
