In 1844 Richard Britcher was a beneficiary of the Will of his uncle Richard Bristed of St. Pancras London, receiving £10.

At the time of the 1851 England Census Richard Britcher, age 46, born in Otham Kent, farmer of 51 acres employing 2 men, and wife Mary Ann, age 44, born in London Middlesex, were living in Gove Farm, Otham. With them were children: Richard (20) of Boxley Kent, farmer's son, Edwd. (16) of Boxley, farmer's son, and born in Otham... Mary (12), farmer's daughter, George (11), farmer's son, Henry (9), William (7), Thomas (5) and Sarah (4).

In 1853 Richard Britcher of Otham, farmer, was the sole executor of the Will of his brother Stephen Britcher of Maidstone.

At the time of the 1861 England Census Richard Britcher, age 56, born in Otham Kent, farmer, and wife Mary Ann, age 54, born in Burmondsey Surrey, were living in Gove Farm, Otham.
