Domesday Book records that the king gave land in Horsey, Norfolk to "Roger Bigod...when his brother William came from Apulia with Geoffrey Ridel". Ingulph's Chronicle of the Abbey of Croyland records that "Joffrid Ridel and Geva his wife and his sister the lady Hawise" visited Croyland (dated to 1114). Dapifer. Royal justiciar. He was granted Drayton Basset in Staffordshire.

Orderic Vitalis names "Goisfredus Ridel" among those who drowned in the White Ship in 1120. 1

  Marriage Information:

Geoffrey married Geva FITZ HUGH, daughter of Vcte Hugh "Lupus" D' AVRANCHES, 1st Earl of Chester, and an unknown Mistress. (Geva FITZ HUGH died after 1145.)
