At the time of the 1871 England Census Elizabeth Phillpot, age 25, born in Willingdon Sussex, and husband William J Phillpot, age 33, born in St. Leonards on Sea, silk mercer & draper employing 8 assistants & 4 girls, were in Marina, St. Mary Magdalene, St. Leonard Sussex. With them were Elizabeth's unmarried sisters Margaret Mockett (22) of Willingdon, farmer's daughter, and Maria Mockett (27) of Willingdon, farmer's daughter.

In Aug 1878 Elizabeth Philpot of Mead's House in Eastbourne, widow, was co-executor of her late husband's Will.

At the time of the 1901 England Census Elizabeth Pitcher, age 54, born in Willingdon, widow, was with her sister Maria Mockett at 17 Springfield Rd., Preston Sussex.
