At the time of the 1871 England Census Maria Mockett, age 27, born in Willingdon, single, farmer's daughter, was with her sister Elizabeth Phillpot and husband William J. , in Marina, St. Mary Magdalene, St. Leonard Sussex.

At the time of the 1881 England Census Maria Mockett, age 37, born in Willingdon Sussex, single, miller's daughter, was in Park Croft, Willingdon. With her were sister Margaret Mockett (32) of Willingdon, miller's daughter, and niece Jane E M Baker (4) of Friston Sussex.

At the time of the 1891 England Census Maria Mockett, age 47, born in Willingdon Sussex, single, living on own means, was in Park Croft, Willingdon. With her were nephew Charles M Baker (25) of Eastbourne, manager of mill, niece Jane E M Baker (14) of Friston, scholar, visitor Emma Mockett* (57) of Albourne, widow, living on own means.

* Emma Mockett was the widow of Maria's brother Matthias.

In Jun 1894 M Mockett was present at the marriage of her niece Jane Elizabeth Madeline Baker to Robert Wilson McKergow in Pimlico Middlesex.

At the time of the 1901 England Census Maria Mockett, age 57, born in Willingdon Sussex, single, living on own means, was at 17 Springfield Rd., Preston Sussex. With her was sister Elizabeth Pitcher (54) of Willingdon, widow.
