In Apr 1850 E A Spittle was present at the marriage of her sister Jane Maria Spittle to George Theobald in Borden Kent.

At the time of the 1861 England Census Elizabeth A Taylor, age 31, born in Borden Kent, and husband John Taylor, age 32, born in Sittingbourne Kent, ship & boat builder, were living in Crown Quay, Sittingbourne. With them were children Alfred E (8) of Milton Kent, scholar, Elizabeth Ann (6) of Milton, scholar, and Miriam (10 mo) of Chatham.

At the time of the 1871 England Census Elizabeth A Taylor, age 40, born in Borden Kent, and husband John Taylor, age 42, born in Sittingbourne Kent, ship builder employing 8 men & 6 boys, were living in Crown Quay, Sittingbourne. With them were children Alfred E (18) of Milton Kent, boat builder, Elizabeth A (16) of Milton, governness, and Miriam (10) of Chatham, scholar, Charlotte A (8) of Sittingbourne, scholar, Joseph J (6) of Sittingbourne, scholar.

At the time of the 1881 England Census Elizh A Taylor, age 51, born in Borden Kent, and husband John Taylor, age 52, born in Sittingbourne Kent, shipbuilder employing 12 men & 4 boys, were living in Crown Quay, Sittingbourne. With them were children Elizh A (25) of Milton, unmarried, organist & music teacher, Mariam (20) of Chatham, Charlotte A (18) of Sittingbourne, and Joseph J (16) of Sittingbourne, chemist (apprentice).

At the time of the 1891 England Census Elizabeth A Taylor, age 60, born in Borden Kent, and husband John Taylor, age 62, born in Sittingbourne Kent, ship surveyor, were living at 47 Park Rd., Sittingbourne. With them were daughters Miriam (30) of Chatham, music teacher, Charlotte A (28) of Sittingbourne, school governness.

At the time of the 1901 England Census Elizabeth A Taylor, age 70, born in Borden Kent, and husband John Taylor, age 72, born in Sittingbourne Kent, surveyor of shipping, were living at 47 Park Rd., Sittingbourne. Present were children (born in Sittingbourne, single): Miriam (39), teacher of music (own account), Charlotte E (37), elementary school teacher, and Joseph J (36), chemist.
