The epitaph of "Gaitelgrima…proles Roffredi…coniux Landulfi principis" records that she died aged over 60 years old. Stasser suggests that her father was the same person as Rofrit Conte di Larino. The hypothesis appears to be confirmed correct by the charter dated to [Aug 991/Aug 992] under which Pandolf II and Landolf V Princes of Benevento confirmed the privileges of the monastery of San Modesto di Benevento, at the request of "Roffridum comitem…thium nostrum". 1

Gaitelgrima married Landolf V DI BENEVENTO, Prince of Capua & Benevento, son of Landolf IV DI BENEVENTO, Prince of Capua & Benevento, and Maria DI GAETA, during the summer of 958. (Landolf V DI BENEVENTO was born in Benevento, Italy and died in 968.) |
