Abstract of the Will of John Callaway of Newington next Sittingbourne in the County of Kent, Yeoman, written 17 Jun 1824, proved 10 Jul 1826. 4

Wills and bequeaths all his money, lands, messuages, tenements, mortgages, debts and belongings to his son Benjamin Callaway.

Leaves a legacy of 8 shillings a week to his wife, to be paid to her by his son Benjamin, He also wills that his wife have the use of his dwelling house and household goods.

Wills that his daughter Abigail Page be paid 6 shillings per week by his son Benjamin, on condition that she resides with her mother and assists her.

Wills and bequeaths £100 to his grandson John Callaway, the son of his son Benjamin Callaway, to be paid to him when he turns twenty four. Ordains that his said grandson inherit his dwelling house and adjoining premises in Newington following the death of his parents, with the exception of the cottage adjoining the workshop and the part of the garden associated with it.

Wills that his household goods, linen and plate be divided equally between his son Benjamin Callaway and his daughter Abigail Page after the death of his wife.

Makes Benjamin Callaway his son, carpenter, and George Allen, school master of Newington, co-executors of his last will and testament.
