At the time of the 1841 England Census Jno. Gallop junr., aged about 25, carpenter, was with his parents in York Cottages, St. Mary in the Castle, Hastings, Sussex.

At the time of the 1851 England Census John Gallop, aged 35, born in Hastings Sussex, carpenter, and wife Hannah, aged 35, born in Hastings, were living at 3 Castle Drew Place, St. Mary in the Castle, Hastings. With them was daughter Sarah (13) of Hastings.

In 1854 John Gallop was co-executor of his father's Will.

At the time of the 1861 England Census John Gallop, aged 45, born in Hastings Sussex, builder, and wife Hannah, aged 45, born in Hastings, were living in Spring House, Portland Place, St. Mary in the Castle, Hastings. With them was daughter Sarah (23) of Hastings.
