Two Beckenham residents—Ernest Edward Preston, of 8, Burnhill-road, and Luther Benjamin Preston, of Blandford-road—applied for, and were granted certificates exempting their children from vaccination.

At the time of the 1901 England Census Luther Preston, age 28, born in Buntingford Herts, carpenter, and wife Letitia, age 29, born in Plumstead Kent, were living at 31 Blandford Ave, Beckenham Kent. With them were daughters (both born in Beckenham): Ethel (1) and Hilda (4 months). Luther's brothers Edward and William were living nextdoor at no. 30.

At the time of the 1911 England Census Luther Preston, age 38, born in Buntingford Herts, house decorator, and wife of 12 years Letitia, age 39, born in Plumstead Kent (mother of 4 children), were living at 32 Churchfields Rd., Beckenham Kent. With them were daughters (born in Beckenham): Ethel (11), school, Hilda (10), school, Florence (5) and Doris (2).

In the 1939 Register Luther B Preston (b. 24 Sep 1872), painter, house repairs, and wife Letitia H (b. 19 Nov 1871), unpaid domestic duties, were living in Beckenham Kent.

In Aug 1949 Luther Benjamin Preston, decorator, was granted Probate of the personal effects of his late brother Edward Stephen Preston of Waddesden, Bucks.

In Mar 1955 Luther Benjamin Preston, retired painter and decorator, was granted Probate of the personal effects of his late sister Frances Mary Ellen Preston of Beckenham, spinster.
