Adalmode DE LIMOGES
- Married (1): Abt 990
- Married (2): Abt 997
- Died: After 1005
The Chronicle of Adémar de Chabannes records that "Aldebertus frater [Helias Petragoricensi comite]" married "sorore Widonis vicecomitis". Ademar records the second marriage of "Adalmode coniuge…Aldeberti" to Duke William. The Chronicle of Petrus Malleacensis records that Adalmodis was wife of Boson Comte du Périgord and daughter of "Candida", for whom Duke Guillaume promised to expand "fluvium Rhodanum Regni" in return for marrying her daughter, but this is not consistent with the other sources. According to the Chronicle of Maillezais, Adalmode was the daughter of Adelaide d'Anjou (presumably by her first husband Etienne de Brioude/Gévaudan), and also widow of Boson Comte du Périgord (brother of Comte Audebert [I], whom he survived by several years). Thierry Stasser has shown that this is incorrect. 1
Adalmode married Adelbert (Audebert) I DE LA MARCHE, comte de Périgord, son of Boson I "le Vieux" DE LA MARCHE, Marquis du Limousin, and Ctsse Aina (Emma) DE PÉRIGORD, about 990. (Adelbert (Audebert) I DE LA MARCHE was born about 945 and died in 997 in Charroux, , France.
Adalmode also married Duc Guillaume V "le Grand" D' AQUITAINE, Comte de Poitou, son of Duc Guillaume IV "Fier-à-bras" D' AQUITAINE and Emma DE BLOIS, about 997. (Guillaume V "le Grand" D' AQUITAINE was born about 969 in Poitiers, Vienne, Poitou, France and died on 31 Jan 1029/30 in France.)
