|Henry DE BRIWERE of Stoke
(Abt 1113-Abt 1174)
Henry DE BRIWERE of Stoke
- Born: Abt 1113, Torre Brewer Manor, Tormoham, Devon, England
- Married: After 1140
- Died: Abt 1174
Bill Prokasy, in an e-mail, questioned Henry Briwere & Miss Walton, but especially questioned his other wife Joan de Reviers.
I checked in soc.genealogy.medieval (SGM) and found three postings listing the Henry de Briwere/Daughter de Walton marriage, with William as the son. Unfortunately all three were asking for verification of their data, and listed no sources. The best that can be said is none of the "experts" raised any objection over the Henry/Walton-William relationship in the three postings.
I originally had a Joan de Reviers as a 1st wife & mother of the daughter who m. Ralph de Gernon, but could find no support for that in any reliable source. It also looks similar (and therefore probably mistaken for) the Joan de Vernon, daughter of William de Vernon & Mabel Beaumont, who married William Briwere, b. c1178, (son of William Briwere, b. c1145), who dsp. and left his sisters as his heirs. Therefore I have eliminated Joan as wife of Henry de Briwere.
Henry married Miss WALTON after 1140. (Miss WALTON was born in 1129 in Albemarle, Surrey, England.)
