With her were children (born in Brighton): Henry (5), Frederick (3), Elizabeth (1), Louisa (7 mos), and lodger Thomas Simpson (38) of Brighton, married, bricklayer.

At the time of the 1881 England Census Elizabeth Copley, age 43, born in Brighton Sussex, widow, lodging house keeper, was at 20 Caledonian Rd., Brighton St. Peter. With her were children (born in Brighton): Henry (13) and Harriette (10), scholar.
