At the time of the 1901 England Census Hamlin Baker, age 32, born in Brighton Sussex, hatter & umbrella maker, and wife Louisa, age 29, born in Brighton, were living at 36 Whichelo Place Brighton. With them were children (born in Brighton): May B (4) and Elsie L (2). Hamlin's parents were living at no. 38.

At the time of the 1911 England Census Hamlin William Baker, age 42, born in Brighton Sussex, hatter's shop assistant (salesman), and wife of 16 years Louisa, age 39, born in Ovingdean Sussex (mother of 3 children), were living at 36 Whichelo Place, Brighton Sussex. With them were children (born in Brighton): May (14), dressmaker's assistant, Elsie (12), school, Ethel (8), school.

In Mar 1931 Hamlin William Baker, gas company employee, was granted Probate of his late parents' personal effects.
