Vcte Mayeul I DE NARBONNE
- Died: Before 15 Jun 911, Narbonne, Aude, Languedoc, France
Compiler's 34 x great-grandfather
The origins of the family of the first known Vicomtes de Narbonne are unknown. This family provides one of the few proven examples of teritorial migration among the nobility, a younger son of Mayeul [I] Vicomte de Narbonne emigrating to Burgundy where he was installed as Comte de Mâcon.
Vicomte de Narbonne. A charter dated 15 Jun 911, under which Arnust Archbishop of Narbonne donated property to Saint-Paul de Narbonne, names "infantes Majolo vicecomite et uxori suæ Raymundæ...Walchario et...Albericho vicecomite", the wording implying that the parents were deceased at that date. Settipani suggests that she was the daughter of Raymond I Comte de Toulouse. 1
Maueul married Raymonde. (Raymonde died before 15 Jun 911.)
