Dobronega Maria Vladimirovna RURIK, Princess of Kiev

  • Married: Abt 1039

  Research Notes:

The Primary Chronicle records the marriage of "Yaroslav's sister" to Kazimierz of Poland in 1043 but does not name her. The Annales Polanorum state that "Kazimirum duxit ex Russia Mariam" in 1025, although the date is clearly inaccurate. The Chronicæ Polanorum refers to the wife of King Kazimierz as "de Rusia nobilem". The Chronica principum Polonie records that "Kazimirus" married "Dobrognewam".

The Annales Capituli Cracoviensis record the death in 1087 of "Dobronega uxor Kazimir". 1

  Marriage Information:

Dobronegra married Kazimierz I Karol "Odnowiciel/the Renewer" PIAST, Prince of Poland, son of Mieszko II Lambert PIAST, King of Poland, and Richeza VON LOTHRINGEN, Queen of Poland, in 1043. (Kazimierz I Karol "Odnowiciel/the Renewer" PIAST was born on 25 Jul 1016 in Kraków, Poland and died on 28 Nov 1058 in Kraków, Poland.)
