To William de Clynton, constable of Dover castle and warden of the Cinque Ports, or to him who supplies his place in the port of Dover. Order to allow Robert Corbet of Morton, who is going on pilgrimage to Santiago by the king's licence, to cross from that port with his men, horses and equipment.

Licence, for 10l. to be paid to the king by John de Wythiford, for the said John to enfeoff John de Rodene, chaplain, and Hugh del Purrok, chaplain, of a messuage, two mills, a carucate of land, 4 acres of meadow, 6 acres of wood, and 20s. of rent in Little Withiford and Shawebury, held in chief, and for them to re-grant the same to him for life, with remainders to Nicholas, his brother, for life, and to Robert Corbet of Moryton, 'chivaler,' Elizabeth his wife, and his heirs.

SALOP AND THE ADJACENT MARCH OF WALES. Inq. taken at Shrewsbury, 9 January, 49 Edward III.

Shawebury. The manor, held of the king in chief by knight’s service.
Morton Corbet. The manor, held of Richard de Peshale, as of the manor of Chetewynd, by knight’s service.
Harpecote. The manor, held of Robert de Ferrers, lord of Wemme, by service of rendering 8s. yearly.
Haberleye. The manor, held of Hugh, earl of Stafford, of the manor of Caus, by knight’s service.
Routon and Ambaston. The manors, held of Nicholas Burnell by service of rendering 9l. yearly.
Bragynton. The hamlet, in the march of Wales, held of the earl of Stafford, of the manor of Caus, by knight’s service.

All the above he held jointly with Elizabeth his wife, who survives, for the term of their lives, by demise of Thomas Gery, vicar of the church of Morton, and Thomas de Lee of Southbach, with successive remainders to Fulk, son of the said Robert and Elizabeth, and the heirs male of his body, to Roger, Fulk’s brother, and the heirs of his body, and to the right heirs of Robert. And since the manor of Shawebury is held of the king in chief by knight’s service, they have the king’s licence for the above estate.

Watlesburgh, Heye and Bredeshulle. The manors, held of the earl of Stafford, of the manor of Caus, by knight’s service.
Kynworton. 20s. rent, held of the lord of Watlesburgh by knight’s service.
Hemme. The manor, held of Adam de Peshale, lord of Ideshale, by knight’s service.
Stirchesleye. Rents of 20s. and 3 dwt. of gold, held of the earl of Arundel by knight’s service.
The last four items he held jointly with the said Elizabeth, for the term of their lives, with successive remainders in tail to the said Fulk and Roger, and with remainder over to the right heirs of Robert.
Blecheleye. The manor, held of the lord [of] Stoke upon Tirne by service of 12s. rent yearly.
Laweleye. The manor, held of Peter de Eyton by service of 5s. rent yearly.
Shrewsbury. 8 messuages, 20a. land and 6a. meadow, held in burgage as parcel of the town.

The last three items he held jointly with the said Elizabeth, for the term of their lives, with successive remainders in tail to the said Roger and Fulk, and with remainder over to the right heirs of Robert.

Besseford. The manor, and 3 messuages and 3 bovates of land in Shawebury, held of the king by knight’s service.
Ballysleye. The manor, in the march of Wales, held of Fulk Fitz Waryn, lord of Whitynton, by knight’s service.

He held the last two items jointly with the said Elizabeth, to them and the heirs of their bodies, with remainder to his right heirs, by demise of Master Richard de Longenolre, parson of the church of Nesse, and Thomas de Morton, parson of the church of Cardeston, with the king’s licence.

He died on 3 December last. Elizabeth daughter of Thomas his son, aged 18 years and more, wife of John de Ippestones, knight, is his next heir in blood.
