The Complete Peerage refers to this Guillaume de Say but does not establish his relationship with the later Say family (Barony created by writ in 1313). Such a connection is likely given the unique name (according to The Complete Peerage, there is only one place of this name in Normandy about 2 miles south-east of Argentan.
